Swap what the Factory and the University cost, so that the Factory costs 8 doubloons and the University 7. The Factory is among the strongest buildings in the game and the University among the least built, so the swap takes a doubloon off the one nobody buys and adds it to the one everybody does. Nothing else about either building changes.

Corn starts a doubloon down
A player whose starting plantation is corn begins with one doubloon fewer than a player who starts with indigo. Corn is the one crop that produces with no matching production building, so it earns from the first Craftsman without any of the setup indigo demands — and the opening plantations are handed out by seat rather than chosen. One doubloon is the whole adjustment.
